Richard “Richie” Grenier has been stealing cars since he was 15 years old, growing up in South Boston. “Now I get to steal cars for a living...legally!”he exclaimed with a smile. After spending 10 years in prison for armed bank robbery, Grenier is glad to be out in the sunshine, racing to nab illegally parked cars all around Boston.

“You gotta get outta there before the owner sees you,” he said. If the owner catches him before he can get their car out of the lot, they can pay him $50 to release their car back. For those cars he gets back to the yard, Grenier gets a bigger commission and a higher motivation to stay out of jail and on the right track.
